Citylight Midtown—we get to be a part of some incredible stories of redemption in our city. God is on the move and I want to give you a quick glimpse into one life that has been touched by God’s grace.

Chatauna is a single mom who has been part of our Citylight family since Easter 2016. She visited us that Sunday with some other women from a recovery program they were part of that happens to be within walking distance of the Omar. Since that time, she graduated from the program and has been working on becoming independent, parenting her 18 month-old son, and resurfacing dreams that have been left on the wayside after years of hopelessness.

One of the many challenges Chatauna has faced is not having a vehicle. This means she spends hours every day relying on the bus system to take her son to day care and then getting to work. It breeds isolation because it’s difficult to get to Church (now she lives farther than walking distance), or any other group where she can find community and support.

This challenge is finally a non-issue thanks to the generous donation of a vehicle from Chariots 4 Hope, a local non-profit that helps many low-income single parents, families and individuals who have had their lives derailed through extraordinary circumstances.

Our partners at Chariots 4 Hope are using their God-given gifts of repairing used vehicles to change the lives of real people in our city like Chatauna. We encourage you to support their ministry with your time, talents and resources. Maybe vehicle repair is a gift you have, or you have a used vehicle to donate, or you just love meeting tangible needs. Visit them at https://www.chariots4hope.org.

We are so grateful for what God is doing in Chatauna and we are honored to be part of this blessing, but in many ways the work has just begun. Chatauna still faces challenges and needs our church to circle around her with our love and support. If you would like to know how to invest in Chatauna, email sarah@citylightomaha.org.
