“Our Church showed up and was bought into serving at soccer camp this year. We had almost as many volunteers as kids. It’s so great to see our Church wanting to love and serve our neighborhood.
Each volunteer was excited to be there, and they brought a lot of energy to the camp and to the kids. I am encouraged by these people showing the love of Jesus and showing a desire to be there.
We also had a lot of the same kids from last year at soccer camp this year. These kids are not part of Club ministry, and this is the only relationship we have with them. Soccer camp has allowed us to continue to build those relationships. This year I knew several of the kid’s names because they came to soccer camp last year and that was so helpful.
Our church is continuing to connect with these families and plant little seeds. We might not see most of them until next year, but seeds are planted. I am so glad they are in the neighborhood so we can connect with them over time.
The nations that are represented here in our neighborhood is amazing. Kids from all over show up and we get to share the Gospel with them and connect with them. We don’t have to go very far to share Jesus with the nations.
Even though it was just two days this year, God planted seeds and he will do what he wants. We are making those small touch points and even though we don’t know how God will use those, we are trusting God. It’s worth it even if we don’t see the outcome. God is faithful.
I am so glad our church still wants to do this! We started soccer camp because the neighborhood wanted this camp, and the kids wanted it. The church is willing to step into a need that the community has, and I appreciate our church for doing that.” – Sarah Minturn, Club & Mentoring Director
