In the fall of 2012, a small group of people began gathering in a living room asking God to write a new story. They began to imagine a church that would not just gather on Sunday mornings but would scatter throughout the week to bring the gospel to every neighborhood and network of their city. And in the years since, God has done immeasurably more than they could ask or imagine. Those men and women seeking to plant a single church have become a movement of more than fifteen congregations across four states known as the Citylight Family of Churches.
Sarpy County, Nebraska
From inner cities to suburban neighborhoods and small towns, real lives are being changed through Citylight churches. Families and marriages are being restored and communities transformed by the good news of the gospel. As we look forward to the next chapter of this unfolding story, we’re asking God to do it again in Sarpy County.
With nearly 3,000 people moving to Sarpy County every year, population growth is outpacing church multiplication. By God’s grace, we hope to change that, and together, we believe we can. Our dream is to plant a reproducing church in Papillion that will allow us to multiply churches into the surrounding communities as well. So we’re praying that God would raise up men and women from across the metro who would live on mission in Papillion, Gretna, Bellevue and beyond so that together we can renew the entire region with the gospel of Jesus Christ..
Perhaps you sense you might be one of those people. Whether you’re interested in following along or coming along, whether in-person or in-prayer, we hope you’ll click the button below so we can keep you up-to-date on the journey.
