We are extremely encouraged by your response to love and support our community in the wake of the destructive storms. Thank you for preparing a multitude of opportunities to extend a helping hand, offer prayers, and provide resources to those affected by the storm.

Here are more opportunities to serve and show compassion to our city. These opportunities are subject to change. Please check back for updates:

  1. CHRIST IN ACTION
    Citylight Omaha, West location
    We're excited for the opportunity to host Christ In Action starting this weekend! They are coming to provide longer range tornado relief response (2 - 8 weeks post incident) with heavy demolition. They will be utilizing a portion of the West location parking lot in the days ahead, so plan on parking accordingly. If you see volunteers in red shirts, say hello and make them feel welcome.   2. RAPID RESPONSE AT BETHANY LUTHERAN
    Ongoing | Bethany Lutheran
    Disaster relief continues with Omaha Rapid Response at Bethany Lutheran. For those who are available, this is a great opportunity to serve those who were affected by the storm. Please wear work boots and bring gloves. Fill out the volunteer waiver form.
  3. CITYLIGHT OMAHA FACEBOOK GROUP
    Did you know we had a Facebook Group? The purpose of this group is to build an online community for Citylight Omaha Church to connect and grow together. A place where we can share and celebrate stories, pray, and engage one another so that we can grow in relationship with Jesus, and each other. As we continue to see need in our community, we want this to be a space where you can surface clean-up needs and individuals impacted directly by the recent storm.     1. SAMARITAN'S PURSE
      4.30 - 5.11 | Brookside Church | 3434 N 204 St, Elkhorn, NE
      Volunteers will assist homeowners affected by tornadoes and will help in Jesus' name with roof tarping, debris cleanup, and chainsaw work. There will be opportunities for overnight and day volunteers. No skills are necessary prior to serving. Volunteers will be led and instructed by experienced team leads.     2. CITYLIGHT STUDENTS SATURDAY SERVE
      5.4 | 9 AM - 1 PM | Start at Citylight Omaha West Location
      CLS West and Midtown are coming together on Saturday, May 4th to serve the communities directly affected by the April 26 tornadoes. We will be sending out updates on the exact ways we will support the community as we understand the specific needs of the day. Parents are welcome and encouraged to join us in serving our community!     3. HEARTLAND HOPE MISSION CRISIS RESPONSE CENTER
      Mon - Fri from 9 AM - 3 PM | Sat from 10 AM - 12 PM | Crisis Response Center
      Volunteer with Heartland Hope Mission's Crisis Response Center. Volunteers needed to help distribute food, hygiene items, clothing, pet food, and toys during these time frames: Monday-Friday 9 AM - 3 PM, Saturdays 10 AM - 12 PM.

    4. DONATIONS TO COMMON GROUND
      Ongoing | Common Ground Community Center
      UPDATE: The Red Cross has closed the shelter at Common Ground and they are unable to take in any donations for them.
      Donations needed for the emergency shelter being set up at the Common Ground Community Center, 1701 Veterans Dr. in Elkhorn. Donation needs include: toiletries, non-perishable foods, wipes, diapers, towels, washcloths, pillows, phone chargers, power straps, etc.
    5. HOT MEALS USA AT BETHANY LUTHERAN
