Each ministry has established ways for you to volunteer individually, with your family, and/or with your City Group. Each person will need to register to participate in the volunteer opportunity. We recommend that you visit one ministry each month or every other month. You can complete your Kingdom Passport experiences over the course of a year!
Be sure to record your thoughts and reflections in your Kingdom Passport booklet provided by your coach. It is easy to do, and you will have a journal to share with your family, friends, and City Group. At the end of your journey, we hope you will discern God’s calling on your life to participate with Him in His work to see His Kingdom come in people’s lives.

We desire to rescue women and babies from abortion through education, advocacy, and support services.
AWC is a pregnancy center with two locations in North and West Omaha, along with a mobile unit that serves patients throughout the Omaha Metro area. We are dedicated to supporting women who are facing unexpected pregnancies. We provide free, confidential services, including pregnancy testing and ultrasounds, to empower women to make informed decisions. Our mission is to reach those who may feel they have nowhere else to turn, offering them a safe space, hope, and the resources they need to choose life for their preborn children.
Our goal is not only saving the lives of babies but also walking alongside women during one of the most challenging times in their lives. By showing love, care, and understanding, we aim to transform fear into confidence and uncertainty into hope.
We are always recruiting volunteer advocates, who walk with our patients through our patient process. Expected commitment (after training) is 3 shifts per month (a shift is anywhere from 2.5 - 4 hours) for one year. There are also service opportunities through our support services and mobile unit pit crew. The opportunities vary greatly, so the best "next step" is to contact Lisa Holke, the volunteer coordinator, at lisa@assureomaha.com.
During the summer particularly, there is a need for groups to do regular yard care and maintenance. If there is interest, please email Michelle at michelle@assureomaha.com.
Next quarterly tour is February 11, 2025.

Our primary ministry is fellowship: we do this so that people who may feel like they are "outside the camp" have a place to talk and be supported just as fellow Christians, rather than as a ministry target or project.
This is a support group consisting primarily of men dealing with addictions, bad relationships, habitual sin and other things that enslave believers. Many of the men in the group are or have been incarcerated.
There are lots of opportunities and options if someone wants to be involved regularly . If regular commitment is an issue, just attending when you can on Thursdays is still valuable, as our primary ministry is to say, essentially, "You are us." Someone who could do more could take the class at OOO-C to be able to be a sponsor, pick up the guys at the work release center or be able to bring guys to Citylight events like the Men's gathering stuff. We could use regular van drivers, and we are starting an "ambassador" serving team at Citylight West to help manage relationships and logistics of our guests when they come to church with us.
Being a regular part of the rotation for feeding the guys on Thursday would be a wonderful service.
You could bring a meal for the 25-40 men we have every week is great. Plan to come, sit down at the table and share a meal with us.
We try to have a meal about twice a month. Reach out to Jared if you are interested, and we can work you into that rotation whenever you are ready.
Anyone (men will generally feel more comfortable) is welcome to join us on Thursdays, at 6:30pm for Overcomers. It is an open support group that men from the church attend regularly.

We serve specific neighborhoods by connecting and empowering neighbors to lead change for their communities.
We are a non-profit aimed at alleviating poverty at a root level by uniting and strengthening vulnerable neighborhoods.
We do this because where you grow up matters. And we want to see future generations in our neighborhoods have opportunities to use their God-given talents and abilities.
People can help bring food or serve food at our community meals. Help complete surveys in the neighborhood going door-to-door. Join neighbors to pick up trash in the neighborhood. Support block parties or other large events by "owning" a station (popcorn, games, food, etc.). Help with Spring Break club for neighborhood youth (help with weekday supervision 12-2pm one day or multiple days)
Host a community night for 10-15 people at the Hanscom Apartments. inCOMMON will purchase pizza, if groups can bring drinks/dessert. We’d like groups to organize a small activity/game that get people a chance to know each other a little better (think extended ice-breaker). Meal would last ~1hr.
Meals happen year round. Surveys happen year round. Other events typically happen in the Spring or Fall.
Individuals can serve in all the ways mentioned above. If they want to learn more, we'd gladly host them for a coffee and tell them more about what we do.
Next step opportunities would be with our community meals (monthly if possible) or with social activities (quarterly) in our affordable apartments (game night, movie night, bingo, pizza, etc.)
Help with our adult education programs as a regular volunteer for 10-week sessions (ESL + Citizenship classes). Typically volunteers come to all classes over the session but we have subs and it is ok if people must miss.
