Nebraska’s Department of Economic Development wants you to know that the “Good Life” is found in Nebraska. Nebraska offers us good jobs, good friends, good food, good housing, good teachers, good churches, and (most of all) good people. As they say, “The Good Life is calling.”
But who gets to say what "The Good Life" is? If you've ever wondered how ordinary Christians should live in the world, this event is for you. Jonathan Pennington helps us rediscover wisdom from Jesus about what it is to flourish as a human being.
About Dr. Jonathan Pennington:
- Professor of New Testament at Southern Seminary for 20 years
- Pastoral ministry for 30 years; currently one of the Teaching Pastors at Sojourn East Church in Louisville
- Married for over 30 years; six adult children; 1 grandchild
- Author of many books including Reading the Gospels Wisely, The Sermon on the Mount and Human Flourishing, Come and See: The Journey of Knowing God through Holy
- Scripture, Jesus the Great Philosopher: Rediscovering the Wisdom Needed for the Good Life
- Travel and speak at churches and theological institutes all over the world
- Regular visiting professor at many institutions including Reformed Theological Seminary - Orlando, Regent College (Vancouver), etc.

Jonathan Pennington (PhD, University of St Andrews) serves as professor of New Testament interpretation at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and pastor of spiritual formation at Sojourn East church in Louisville, Kentucky. He is the author of several books including Reading the Gospels Wisely, The Sermon on the Mount and Human Flourishing, and Jesus the Great Philosopher.
Event Schedule
This is a two-day event taking place Friday evening and Saturday morning. There will be worship, teaching, table conversations, and opportunities for questions.
