We all experience the effects of sin and brokenness. Pain and suffering are no stranger to our existence in this world. But what are we to do in response? When we reflect on the life of Jesus, we see him moving toward the broken, messy, and hurting. We hear Paul urge Christians to “bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ” - Galatians 6:2
What does it look like to bear one another’s burdens? How do we sit with someone who is suffering? What do we say?
If you have interest in growing your understanding and ability to “bear one another’s burdens” and how to care well for those around you – whether in the context of family, friends, coworkers, or even a stranger you cross paths with in public – join us for Care Ministry Equipping.
Care Ministry Equipping is an 8 week online course paired with in-person discussion groups where we will explore topics including Biblical foundations of care, how people change, suffering, and conflict. We will practice skills that enable us to become better listeners and responders as we develop a sturdy foundation of theology for the heart of why we care for one another.
This class is the first step to complete if you desire to serve in our Care Ministry as a lay counselor. However, even if you don’t have a desire to serve in that capacity, you are still welcome to join us for this class!
