Hurricane Melissa Relief & Rebuild Effort

Hurricane Melissa, a Category 5 storm, has left Jamaica and our global focus partners at Robin’s Nest Children’s Home, devastated. We praise God that every child and staff member is safe, but nearly everything on the property, including staff homes, has been damaged.

Our Response
As Robin’s Nest creates a priority list of rebuild projects, Citylight is preparing to send teams of skilled professionals who can help restore homes and rebuild what was lost, one project at a time.

Give Toward the Rebuild
If you would like to support the work financially, you can donate directly to Robin’s Nest. All funds go toward the daily care for the 30 children (food, water, essentials) and the projects to rebuild and repair the property as well as staff homes.

Why It Matters
Buildings can be rebuilt. Trees can be replanted. Broken things can be repaired. But the lives of these children, their safety, stability, and hope, matter most. Jesus has brought each child to Robin’s Nest, and this next season is another chapter in His story of care and redemption. Thank you for helping us walk with them through this rebuilding journey.

Global Focus

Robin's Nest Children's Home

Founded in 1998, the Robin's Nest Children’s Home (RNCH) in Montego Bay, Jamaica seeks to provide a nurturing, loving, safe, Christ-centered atmosphere in which all children will grow physically, mentally, and spiritually - so that they may heal and become the person who God intended. They do this by providing a safe and secure Christian environment for the children while providing basic needs, medical care, unconditional love, and education they need to grow.

Citylight sent one of our global partners, Dave and Robin Laney, in 2024 to serve as co-directors of the RNCH. Through our partnership, we desire to reflect the unconditional love of God the Father for the vulnerable and the orphan. We have invested in a number of projects that have created safe and fun spaces for the children, while also sending a number of teams each summer to develop relationships with the kids as they grow as well as the staff of RNCH. We also desire to be a catalyst in their educational and spiritual development so that these kids are sent out well. Learn more about Robin's Nest Children's home at robinsnestchildrenshome.org.
