City Serve 2019
September 28 - 29 | Various times & locations
Join dozens of churches and thousands of Christ followers to promote gospel unity and demonstrate the love of Jesus by meeting tangible needs in our Omaha community. Citylight Omaha has selected projects that further the mission of our friends and partners already at work meeting needs and serving the poor in our city. Our hope is that more members of the body of Christ participate in on-going work projects led by a group of devoted people.
The following list consists of projects that range from 2-4 hours of service time or donating items at each church location. Families, City Groups, and all members of the body of Christ can participate!
inCommon Social Capital Surveys
Ideal for individuals or small groups to go door-to-door in the Walnut Hill Neighborhood to conduct surveys. The Social Capital Survey helps inCommon gather information about our neighbors' level of connectedness in the community and the input received helps shape our programs and strategy in the neighborhood. It’s a great one-time opportunity for people to help make a lasting impact.

Spencer Block Party
The Spencer Projects are government housing units in North Omaha. These units were created for low-income families in need of affordable housing. The families here are real people , with real stories, and have real need for Jesus like anyone else! We are teaming with Dream City Church to throw a block party and assist with neighborhood clean up.

Walnut Hill Elementary Landscaping
Walnut Hill Elementary is our Midtown location’s neighborhood school. They can use our help getting their landscaping in order before winter—pulling weeds, trimming back overgrown plants, spreading mulch, etc. Bring work gloves and any garden tools you have that could be helpful (shovels, trowels, rakes, garden shears and the like). This is a family friendly work site.

This event is to help inCOMMON promote the Hanscom Park Soccer Field project. It is a project that has been initiated by local residents and we want other community members to catch a vision for this project and join the team! Donate food, sign up to serve food or oversee games and activities for families.
