Sunday Morning Serving Teams
Citylight Serving teams are made up of individuals committed to serving one another in love and extending hospitality to those who are not yet part of God’s family. On Sunday mornings, we have teams of volunteers who make it possible for our entire Citylight family to gather at the Omar to worship Jesus together. We are always looking for additional serving team members to come along side and serve our family together. Here’s a list of our Sunday morning serving teams:
Citylight Kids exists to partner with parents to give every child who enters our church an opportunity to meet Jesus, become more like Jesus, and share Jesus with others. Citylight Kids serves children from birth through 5th grade every Sunday. We have amazing, life giving volunteers who serve our church through this ministry, but we’d love to have more leaders, assistants, and Check-in Greeters.
Citylight’s Security team is responsible for creating a safe environment on Sunday mornings and during mid-week events as needed. Training is provided for those who are willing to protect and serve our church family in this role.
Greeters & Seaters
We want everyone who walks into our gathering receive a warm welcome from a friendly face and find a place to sit. Our greeters and seaters smile, pass out programs and help find seats when the gathering fills up. Grumpy hermits need not apply.
Our connection tale volunteers help people get information about what’s happening at Citylight. People on this team love Citylight, love meeting new people and finding answers to questions. You don’t have to be an expert, just willing to find out and follow up.
Our A/V team plays an important behind the scenes role in facilitating a smooth, distraction-free worship experience. Sound engineers make sure the microphones are hot and the mix is balanced. Video volunteers run the slides and visual aspects of the service. If no one knows you’re there, you’ve done a great job!
Creative musicians and vocalists of all kinds are welcome to audition for the music team. We are looking for humble servants who love connecting to the heart of God through music and leading others in this way.
Parking volunteers help keep our visitors and young families from driving away in frustration when they can’t find a spot. This team makes an important first impression so calm, friendly and committed people are needed for this role.
Drivers are needed Sunday mornings for worship gatherings serving Restored Hope and Lydia House residents. This is a practical way to serve and develop relationships with women who truly appreciate the opportunity to worship with us.
Do you like working out first thing in the morning? This workout plan is free and you will feel so accomplished when you’re done because hundreds of people will worship Jesus and hear the Word preached as a result of your efforts. If you’d rather stay late and put chairs away, the physical results are the same!
There are a hundred tiny details to take care of before our Citylight family arrives on Sunday mornings to worship and we need help getting them all together. From setting out Bibles to unfurling the welcome flags, many hands make light work. Early birds get the worm and the best selection of donuts.
The Omar building is a fabulous space to gather on Sundays, but it is used throughout the week for other events so when we walk out we need to leave it like we found it. If you like to linger, shut a place down, and have a mean clean streak, join the clean up team.
